Dealing With Back Acne (PART 2): The DOs and DON'T

Dealing With Back Acne Acne is a very common skin problem faced by many people and it occurs when the pores in the skin become clogged by dead skin cells, oil and dirt. It does not only appears on your face, it can grow on your body as well.

Today, let's continue our talk on...
...
"BACK ACNE"

Before I share about the DOs and DON'T, let's continue from where we ended off..... Previously, I have shared about my friend's true (success) story on back acne. If you haven't read it, check it out by clicking the following picture:

P.S.: Some part of this post will be linking to the previous article, so be sure to read that before proceeding.

So... how do I help my friend to heal her back acne? Let me explain...

First, my friend told me the "history" of her skin care routine and skin condition before and during the breakouts period.

Here's a brief summary on the "history" of her skin....blah...blahh...blahhhh... :
She has very oily and acne prone facial skin, so all along she thought her body has the same skin type as her face. Hence, all the products she tried were designed for oily and acne prone skin; apparently none has worked out. Not to mention she used 100% tea tree oil, as a spot treatment after taking a shower, which also did not work out well. Alongside, she experienced rashes and itching that comes and goes each day.

Then, I analyzed her skin using the moisture analyzer device, commonly seen in my reviews, and found out that her skin type was not what she thought it would be. At that point, her skin wasn't very oily in fact, it was super dry!

From what she told me, I started piecing up all the factors together and came to my conclusion [...] — The cause of her acne was definitely due to clogged pores (dead skin cells, oil, dirt). But what made her breakouts progressively worse was because of using the wrong products and treating methods, which irritate and constantly drying up her skin. Also, the continual use of the wrong products caused her skin to become sensitive.

At that time, her skin condition was partially infested with inflamed pimples, super dry and gets irritated easily. As a result, it wasn't easy to find a product that suits her (then) skin. After some trial and error, we finally found a product that works.

The product is called "Natural Real Mild Body Wash" and it's from Happy Bath.

In case you haven't heard of the brand "Happy Bath", here's an introduction I copied from YesStyle (lol):
Happy Bath infuses all-natural ingredients into its range of body care products for a truly pleasurable and refreshing bathing experience. Established in 2000, the brand carries an assortment of bath essentials ranging from facial cleansers to hand creams. Happy Bath manufactures all its products in South Korea and belongs to the AMOREPACIFIC group of brands alongside Laniege, Innisfree, Etude House and others.

Happy Bath carries many different types of body washes that are made of natural ingredients, so they aren't too harsh to use on the skin. I chose the Mild one because I believe it is the most gentlest to use on my friend's (then) skin.

Besides body wash, she also needs a gentle spot treatment to tackle her existing pimples. As I have always had good experiences with Etude House products, I suggested to her to give Etude House's "OMG! Trouble Break Mist (Spray)" a try.

She did, and the two products really worked out positively for her.

Note: Our skins are different and react differently to product, so what worked for my friend might not work out for you.

Overall conclusion, you don't really need harsh chemicals and a lot of products to treat acne. As long as you treat your acne with the right products and methods that suit your skin type, you would most likely achieve positive results.

So how to find the right products for your skin? and how to treat your back acne?

Read on...

- Moving onto the topic of the day! -

"The DOs and DON'T"
 when dealing with body-back acne...

The DOs:

Find Out The Root Cause
Knowing the cause of your breakouts is the first step in knowing how to clear up back acne. So question yourself~! Following are some example questions to start with... :

1. When did the breakouts started?

2. Did you modify your skin care routine prior to your breakouts? (e.g. change or add-in new products). If yes, do you have any idea what product triggered the breakouts? If yes, stop using that product immediately.

3. Have you made any diet changes prior to your breakouts? (e.g. increasing intake of dairy products, consuming more oily, spicy and junk foods)

4. Have you made any lifestyle changes prior to your breakouts? (e.g. exercising, sun-tanning)

5. Do you have good hygiene practice? (e.g. shower, regular changing of clothes and bedsheet [if you sleep topless] )

Understanding Your Skin Type (acne-prone, dry, normal, oily, sensitive) & Finding the Right Body Care Product
A critically important step in treating acne in the right way is to determine your skin type. All body care products available in the market are designed for different skin types and concerns. Therefore, in order to find the right product to treat your skin, you have to know your skin first.

For your information, facial skin and body skin are different. Hence, although the causes of body acne are the same as facial acne, the treatment is different. So don't treat them the same!

TIPS: Look for products that aren't too harsh or too drying because treating acne doesn't need aggressive treatment, gently does it!

Apply Topical Treatment
Opt for a spot zapper that is strong enough to combat zits but is gentle to the skin. As the zits on the back area are hard-to-reach, I recommend using product that comes in a spray pump.

Recommendation: Product that contains Salicylic Acid such as Etude House OMG! Trouble Break Mist — a body-acne care product formulated with Salicylic Acid and other healing properties for breakouts. With built-in 360-degree pump, it sprays from any angle, even upside down to treat hard-to-reach areas like the back and shoulders.

Practice Good Hygiene
For example, taking showers daily, regular changing of clothes, bed sheets ...

Dirt, oil and sweat accumulate on your skin throughout the day can clog up the pores and cause acne. So taking a shower helps to keep your skin clean; free from bacteria and impurities, preventing acne occurrences and/or from worsening!

Clothes are made of fabric and it absorb sweat and oil. Hence, changing clothes daily is a must, especially after sweating. You wouldn't want to rub those dirts back onto your skin, right? And for the ladies, lingeries will also soak up sweat and oil, so make sure you change it and wear a clean piece.

Similar to the clothes, bed sheets are also made of fabric and will trap dirt, sweat and oil. If you have a habit to sleep topless, remember to change and wash your bed sheet weekly.

Wear Breathable Clothing To Keep Your Skin Dry
Unbreathable clothing holds moisture and stays damp, which can create a breeding ground for bacteria that may trigger and/or worsen existing acne. Thus, it is recommended to wear high-tech, breathable fabric that have wicking properties as it helps to admit air to the skin, allowing moisture and sweat to evaporate.

Keep Your (Long) Hair Away From Your Back
Hair traps oil, dirt and dust easily, which may trigger breakouts and/or make acne worse. So if you have long hair, try to keep it away from your back. Not to mention the hair care products, such as serums, styling gels and creams, that we often use on our hair may clog the pores and trigger breakouts as well. So make sure your hair doesn't touch your back acne.

The Don't:

Scratching or Popping The Zits!
Scratching or popping the zits may cause further injury to the skin, resulting in scarrings that tend to leave a hole appearance, like what my friend has now:

Therefore, if you want your acne to heal flawlessly, avoid picking at your pimples!

Exfoliating or Scrubbing
Exfoliation buffs away dead skin cells and unclogs the pores, which helps to reduce the growth of acne and recurrence. But if you have lots of red inflamed pimples, it's best to avoid exfoliating or scrubbing as this action may further aggravate the zits and cause them to get more inflamed. Only exfoliate when you don't have much inflamed pimples.

Wearing Tight Clothing
Wearing tight clothing rubs against skin, causing friction that may aggravate your acne and lead to excessive sweating. Thus, it's best to wear loose clothing.

Covering Up Acne With Makeup
The skin on your body is thicker and has larger pores than the skin on your face, making it more prone to getting clogged. Plus, the back area is hard to reach and visualize, you may not remove the makeup thoroughly during cleansing. So I don't recommend to apply makeup on your back at all!

That's all the DOs and DON'T I gave to my friend, which "played" a part in healing her back acne. Hopefully, what I have shared would be helpful for people who are facing the same problem. Acne sufferers, press on and keep fighting!

Dealing With Back Acne (PART 1): TRUE STORY

Are you struggling with back acne?

Feeling depressed?

Thinking of giving up on fighting acne?
...

Well, you gotta read on...

Dealing With Back Acne
I know dealing with back acne is not an easy task. It can be very frustrating because it is hard to reach and is also difficult to visualize the condition. Despite that, it is still possible to heal it. Trust me, back acne CAN get healed! Let me briefly share with you my friend's story...

My friend had been suffering from moderate back acne for over a year. Here are the BEFORE pictures on how her back acne looks:

Close-Up Shot: The zits even grew up to the back of her neck.

Close-Up Shot: And you can tell, they were all red and inflamed.

She had tried various methods to treat her back acne but to no success. Instead, it became worse. Being a lady who likes to wear semi-revealing outfits (but nothing promiscuous), she was dejected as she had to avoid wearing backless, low-back outfit, let alone bikini/swimsuit, because she was well aware that flaunting a pimple-ridden back in such outfit in public can be very embarrassing and hideous, and people may even start to talk about her. It really affected her self-esteem for sure.

So ten and a half months ago, she approached me for help in that state. To tell the truth, initially, I didn't want to help her because I am not a skin care expert. There is a possibility that I might make her acne worse instead of healing it. But she said that she will not put the blame on me if her acne got worse because it was her idea and she was the one who approached me. Since she said that, I agreed to help however, I made no promises on the results. I even told her to be prepared for negative results. From then on, she became my experiment subject. LOL.

It was quite difficult to find the ideal body care products for her skin because she has really sensitive body skin, but we did not give up. It took some trial and error finding the suitable products and at the end of the long journey, our patience was rewarded — the results turned out positively.

Healing in progress — zits drying-up... :

Healing in progress — getting better... :

Here are the AFTER pictures on how her back acne looks now:

Close-Up Shot: The back of her neck

Well, you can tell that there are still plenty of imperfections — scarrings resulted from popping and scratching the zits (her bad habit), which are out of my capability. [...] On the bright side, the overall appearance of her back has definitely improved.

In conclusion, it is POSSIBLE to clear up back acne as long as you treat it in the correct way. Therefore, if you have back acne, DO NOT GIVE UP FIGHTING!

Side information: My friend is very happy and willing to share her story, so she granted me the permission to share her story and pictures publicly on my blog. She hopes her experience and success story would be able to give you, whoever is in the same boat, a glimpse of hope and motivation to continue battling! So keep fighting!

From this "experiment", I have learned a few things on treating back acne and I will share them, for example tips on what to do and not to do etc., on my blog soon... Of course, I will also be sharing the products she used to treat her back acne. So be sure to stay tuned to my blog for PART 2. :)

(Update on 11th August 2015): If you would like to find out what products she used and the tips, check out PART 2 — "Dealing With Back Acne: The DOs and DON'T"!

If you would like to know more about facial acne, check out "My Acne Story" page. I have shared my own acne story as well as a list of links related to acne (written by me) that might be of interest to you. There is more to come, so stay tuned! :D

Review: Syokunin Medicated Deodorant Gel Cream『薬用デオドラント職人』

Syokunin Medicated Deodorant Gel Cream Looking for an effective deodorant to combat the sweat and odor in the summer? You gotta try 『薬用デオドラント職人』(Syokunin Medicated Deodorant Gel Cream)!

As I reside in 365-days hot and humid country — Singapore, I'm always searching for a good deodorant. So months ago, in Japan, I picked up this deodorant and I'm amazed by how effective it is!

『薬用デオドラント職人』(Syokunin Medicated Deodorant Gel Cream) is a Japan's product and is available in Scented (citrus) and Unscented.

Since I do wear perfume, I got the unscented one so that it won't collide with my perfume. FYI, my friend got the scented one and she says it has a hint of orange (citrus) fragrance, which smells really nice.

Unfortunately, everything printed on the box is in Japanese (as shown in the following picture)... I can't read Japanese so I can't share the full detailed description.

As far as I know, it is a medicated anti-perspirant deodorant gel cream which helps to reduce bacteria and provide lasting protection against sweat and odor. It can be used on underarms as well as on the foot.

For more info, watch this video (in Japanese):

Unlike most of the deodorants which come in either roll-on or spray bottle, Medicated Deodorant Gel Cream comes in a tube and each tube weighed 35g.

It has a light cream gel texture, which makes it easy to apply and allows fast absorption without leaving the skin feeling sticky. It may feel wet when applied, but once it dries, the skin will feel and stay dry to the touch.

Usage: Apply a sufficient amount onto desired area. In my view, a pea-size is more than enough.

Tried and Tested
The formula for Syokunin Medicated Deodorant Gel Cream is gentle and doesn't sting or irritate my sensitive skin. Hence, I think it is suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin. Once applied, it really reduces and controls sweat production! I do not need to worry about odor and embarrassing, awkward moments (e.g. sweat stains on clothes) during hot days anymore~ heeee~ In terms of effectiveness, compared to the roll-on and spray type deodorants, I find this works more effective and efficient in controlling sweat and odor.

The only downside is that it comes in a tube form. Hence, the application may be more hassle but on the positive side, it is more hygienic than the roll-on type. Plus, it gives a stronger and longer-lasting protection therefore, the packaging doesn't really matter to me anymore. Lol.

All in all, it really does what it claimed~! In my opinion, this is absolutely perfect product for... the summer season, people who live in hot and humid country and also, for people who sweat profusely.

Review: Nature Republic 92% Aloe Vera Soothing Gel

Nature Republic 92% Aloe Vera Soothing Gel — A soothing gel that is enriched with 92% organic aloe gel certified by California Certified Organic Farmers. It is formulated with mild formula, which is free from paraben, mineral oil and artificial colors.

It is a multi function soothing gel and can be used to mildly moisturize various parts of the body such as the face, arms, legs and hairs. The following picture shows some examples of the uses:
Usage/Directions: After cleansing your skin, apply sufficient amount onto desired area.

Ingredients List: Aloe Barbadensis leaf extract (92%), Alcohol, Glyceryl Polyacrylate, Dipropylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, Propylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, PolyGlutamic Acid, Betaine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Carendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Mentha Viridis (Spearmint) Extract, Melissa Officinalis Extract, Carbomer, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Triethanolamine, Phenoxyethanol, Water, Parfum, Disodium EDTA

The product comes in a plastic tub with a screwed-off cap...

...and has a protective cover in the tub.

This is how the aloe vera gel looks like in the tub with the protective cover removed.
It has a nice fragrance; very perfumey and I find it overpowering as the scent lingers on my skin for some time after I washed it off.

The aloe vera gel is transparent in color and has a lightweight gel-ish-watery-like texture, which makes it easy to apply.

Tried & Tested
I've tried it as a body lotion. It does not feel oily at all and it gets absorbed into my skin very quickly leaving a matte finish, without a greasy or sticky residue. Once I applied it on my skin, my skin immediately felt a cooling sensation, which soothed my skin and I quite like the sensation this aloe vera gel gives.

FYI, I have dull, dry and flaky skin on my elbow and I applied some aloe vera gel on my elbow. Take a look at the pictures of BEFORE and AFTER application.
P.S: I wanted to take a picture on how the gel looks upon massaging on my skin, but it absorbed into my skin way too fast and so I failed to capture the moment... lol.

In the BEFORE picture, you can clearly spot the dull complexion, dryness and flakiness issues on my elbow; and my skin looks very rough. Whilst in the AFTER picture, there is a significant improvement - less flakiness. My skin definitely looks and feels smoother and softer after using the product, but in terms of moisturization, I wouldn't say it is very moisturizing.

Well, to further determine on how this product performed on my skin, let's have a SKIN ANALYSIS by using my newly bought beauty device from Japan~

Before I show you the results, please take a look at the Measurement Guide:
*P.S. Analyzing Standards:
The standard value of water level is 38%++, 3-5 bars (normal to very moisturized).
The standard value of oil level is 3 bars (normal). - means balanced, which is neither too oily nor too dry.
The standard value of cells (roughness/softness) is soft - happy face.

Evaluation: After applying the gel.......
- my skin moisture increased from 26% (1 bar) to 34% (2 bars)
- *my skin oil level increased from 1 bar to 2 bars
- cells(?) transformed from very gloomy, frown face to sad face that means my skin still feels rough but it's definitely less rough than before (= feels softer)

*My skin oil level gained an extra bar and that doesn't mean it is too oily okay! The standard value of oil level is 3 bars (normal range) hence, 2 bars is a positive results. However, my skin is still in the dry range. Refer back to "Measurement Guide" and "Analyzing Standards" for more info.

Let's do an OIL TEST~! I scooped out some aloe vera gel onto a sheet of Clean & Clear oil blotting paper.

And leave it for 10 minutes. Here's the result:

Can you see the oil traces dispersing around the gel?

Let's view the back of the oil blotting paper... *flipped the oil blotting paper*

A clearer view on the oil traces.

So this is why my skin oil level gained an extra bar huh? HAHA. Even though this aloe vera gel shows some signs of oil traces, it really does not feel greasy. Besides, if this is a very oily product, the skin analyzer device should have detected it and the oil level should obtain the result of 5 bars instead of just 2 bars. Anyway, I have also tried it as a wash-off and sleeping mask on my face and it did not cause my skin to breakout. With that said, I think this product is suitable for oily skin as well.

In summary, this product is very soothing and it does a great job in calming and cooling down the skin. It does moisturize the skin as shown in the skin analysis results but is not very moisturizing; it's moisturizing ability is not up to my expectation and in my opinion, it is more on the soothing side. Another downside of this product is that it comes in a tub without a spatula and I find it unhygienic to dip my fingers constantly into the tub. I'm glad I have several spatulas at home~ lol.

All in all, this product is a perfect 'cool-down' treatment for the summer season/hot days and is suitable for all skin types.

Review: The Body Shop Spa Fit Smoothing & Refining Body Scrub

Body Shop Spa Fit Smoothing and Refining Body Scrub We all know exfoliation is beneficial to the skin. However, exfoliation isn't only important for your face. It is also important for your body as well! The secrets to soft, dewy and healthy skin begins in the shower.

Here I have with me The Body Shop's Spa Fit Smoothing & Refining Body Scrub (200ml), which I received as a gift for Christmas last year. It has been awarded the Reader's Choice for 'best body scrub' in Her World Beauty Awards 2013.
This zesty citrus scrub contains 100% natural-origin citrus ingredients (orange, lemon, lime = rich in Vitamin C), sesame seed oils, honey and caffeine ingredients, which refines skin’s texture leaving it looking smoother and feeling firmer.

The scrub is stored in a plastic jar with an air-tight seal. Both the lid and lock are really tight fitting which I believe help to preserve the product's freshness and retain its aroma.

↑ Highly packed with Vitamin C goodness  ↑

Each time I open up the jar, there is a burst of citrus scent that revitalizes my senses.

NOTE: To maximum freshness of this natural body scrub, do not get water into the jar! I recommend to scoop the required amount that you need into a separate container like what I did, as shown in the following picture.

It contains gazillions of scrubbing particles (a mixture of soft fruits pulp and caffeine granules), which gently and effectively buff away dull-looking dead skin cells.

Directions/Usage: Massage into damp skin in a circular motion, then rinse thoroughly. Use two to three times a week. For best results, use with other products in the Spa Fit range as part of a regime.

Note: The arm featured in the following pictures belongs to my mom as I need to take the pictures.

The scrub paste has a sticky texture like honey, but it's not thick, runny or greasy. Once water is added, it becomes creamy in consistency and can be easily rinsed off with water.

Tried & Tested!

My mom used the scrub on her right arm. Apparently, the complexion of her right arm (after) appeared significantly brighter and healthier-looking than her left arm (before).

I have to say The Body Shop Spa Fit Smoothing & Refining Body Scrub is totally invigorating and relaxing! Every time I use it, I step out of the bath feeling instantly pampered and rejuvenated! With this body scrub, now I can bid good-bye to dull skin complexion and welcome brighter, healthy-looking skin! Not only it brightens up the skin complexion, I can also feel my skin is softer and smoother to the touch!

Having problems with dull skin complexion and dark patches on your body (especially knees, elbows and underarms)? Try this! Feel and see the difference for yourself! Get yours now at any The Body Shop outlet, retailing at SGD$42.90.

Note: Don't forget to use a body lotion/moisturizer after you exfoliate! Well, just like you'd never exfoliate your face without moisturizing after. It is important to treat your freshly scrubbed skin to a dose of much-needed hydration!

Review: Braun Silk Epil 7 SkinSpa 7951 Epilation & Exfoliation System

Braun Silk Epil 7 SkinSpa 7951 Epilation Braun, the best-selling epilator brand in the world, introduces the most efficient rechargeable *Wet & Dry epilator — "Silk Epil 7 SkinSpa 7951", that comes with an innovative sonic exfoliation brush, which does not only help to remove hairs, it also does exfoliation job! It's a 2-in-1 Epilation and Exfoliation System. TWO beauty treatments in just ONE device and it can be used on legs, body and face!
(*Wet & Dry epilator means it can be used and cleaned under running water.)

Ignore the bikini styler on the left. This review only covers the epilator.

Silk Epil 7 SkinSpa 7951 device and instruction booklet

It has two speed settings, [I] for gentle epilation and [II] for efficient epilation, and a smart light which provides better visibility of fine hairs, so that none are missed during epilation.

There are 40 close-grip tweezers on the barrel that pull out hair by the root and remove hair as short as 0.5mm! Up to 4x shorter than wax can catch!

The device comes with these massage rollers with a pivoting head for a perfect adaption to all your body contours, while actively stimulates your skin for an extra gentle epilation. It can be detachable by the way.

It also comes with different caps to achieve an efficient and effective epilation on different areas like the face, body and even sensitive areas like underarms, bikini line etc..

As mentioned earlier, it features a sonic exfoliation brush that works 4x better than a manual scrub alone. The high density brush is made of 10000 fine bristles; and with the sonic technology, it gently buffs away dead dull skin cells with massaging more than 3000 micro-vibrations, naturally improving skin's appearance by regenerating the skin surface and brings out the skin's natural glow! Here's a picture of the exfoliation attachments.

Apart from that, it also comes with a cleaning brush and a white pouch as shown in the following picture.

A full view on the device with all the attachments and tools. All the attachments, except the shaver head, can be used and cleaned under running water.

The caps can be easily detached and attached to the device without any fuss. Simply pull the cap out to detach from device. For attachment, each cap has an arrow embossed on it to guide you on that. You just have to match the arrow on the cap to the arrow embossed on the device as shown in the next picture.

You will hear a 'click' sound once it has been attached.

Unlike the epilation caps, the removal of exfoliation brush adaptor and shaver head is slightly different. Before attaching the exfoliation brush adaptor or shaver head, you need to press the button at the back of the device to detach the epilation head (Refers to the following picture). Then, you can just attach the exfoliation brush adaptor or shaver head to the device without pressing the button.

Sorry no picture for the attachment. Anyway, similar to the attachment of cap, you should hear a 'click' sound once it has been attached.

It lasts up to 40 minutes cord-less operation time on a full charge.

Once fully charged, turn it on and let it works it's magic on your skin!

My Experience and Verdict:
Before I owned an epilator, I used razor and tweezer and they are economic and affordable hair removal tools. Kick aside those salon's services that charge money to help remove hairs; I will only be sharing my own experience on underarms shaving and epilation with razor, tweezer and epilator.

So for razor, it is rather easy hair removal method as all I have do is to glide it on the surface of my skin and it takes less than a minute to shave long hair to short. However, the skin will left with noticeably black little spots of hairs that are rooted in the skin pores, which the razor could not catch. Another downside of shaving using a razor is the hairs usually grow back fast and they will grow out thicker and coarser, which you know, it isn't a good thing la.

For that reason, I normally use tweezer because instead of shaving the hairs, it plucks them out like an epilator. So it will not have black little spots or thicker, coarser hair issues. BUT, I have to say, it is a really tiring task to remove hairs using a tweezer. Gosh, I have to put up my arm, tilt my head, eyeballs roll down close to the corner and stay at that position, focus, aim and try to pluck each and every strand of hairs out. Usually when I'm done with one side, I feel exhausted to do the other side. But of course, I still did both la! lol. By the time I have done both sides, my arms and neck were aching and my eyes became (x_x)... I always feel weary whenever the hair grows back. It may be a very effective way to remove hairs but it can be very tiring and time consuming!

Now with this epilator, it makes hair removal task a piece of cake! Unlike razor, an epilator plucks and removes hairs by the roots like a tweezer. It epilates hair faster than the tweezer and is more super convenient and time-saving as well! I just have to turn it on, glide back and forth once or twice on my skin and voila!, clean underarms within seconds! Frankly speaking, I never have thought hair removal can be that fast and easy! Furthermore, it comes with sonic exfoliation feature that exfoliate better than a manual scrub, leaving my skin smoother and brighter-looking~ Once you have felt the effect of exfoliation with Silk Epil 7 SkinSpa on your skin, you will never want to miss it again.

I'm absolutely in love with this epilator and I think every girl in the Earth should own one Braun's epilator!! It may cost expensive but you will definitely not regret investing on one! Trust me~

Here are some questions you guys might ask me:
1) Is it painful?
- Well, it may feel tingly painful, especially during the first try. But no worries, it's not extremely painful to the point that makes you tear up. The pain is pretty bearable and will be gone fast. Once you get used to it, it won't be a big issue anymore.

2) Will there be any redness and soreness?
- Yes, there is. However, it is normal to experience some redness and soreness, especially during the first try. Again, no worries, everything will be fine very soon.

3) Can it be shared?
For hygienic reasons, it is not recommended to share epilator with anyone. If you do so, you have to make sure you clean and sanitize it well.

4) How much does this costs and where can I get this?
For this model (Silk Epil 7 SkinSpa 7951), it costs SGD$219 in Singapore. You can find it in stores that sell electronic appliances like Courts, Harvey Normans etc.
